 | | Back from AustraliaTuesday, March 20, 2012 @ 12:37 PM PERMALINK
It has been a great month long holiday (apart from the grumpy bits which I'm not too proud off; which you will all already be updated on if you read my twitter feed)

It's gonna be hard to update 1 month worth of adventures but first, let me introduce you to my family in Canberra.

The whole purpose of this visit was to bring my grandmother over to see my godparents' newly built place. I also took this chance to travel to Melbourne for 9 days to visit Bong.

**For clarity's sake, my godparents are also my aunt and uncle & so their children are my cousins - confused? So was I  until I was 16 **

Canberra isn't a very commonly visited state in Australia, many people don't even know it is the country's capital.  On the surface it is a pretty dull state with only government buildings but its really a matter of finding the right places to visit (more about that later) and being with the right company (which I always have the luxury of)

Anyway, more pictures less text yes?

View of the street, just because I feel like it.

View from the 2nd floor. The surburb is still mainly under construction

  The house library

which is super well stocked with everything I'm interested in. Cook books, numerology books, history, philosophy, fairy tales, fiction best sellers, etc.. Looks like reading interests are genetic too. :)

They are still working on the garden but so far its got roses and other pretty flowers as well as a fig tree, an apple tree, strawberry and blueberry shrubs and a ton of herbs.

The dining room for entertaining and more formal family dinners.

Views from the second floor windows just because the sky is beautiful.

And the people that always make my time in Canberra super enjoyable.

My godfather ; he loves to cook and every weekend/holiday he puts out a feast for us.
This was the day we had ribs for dinner, along with bread and corn from the farmer's market. I polished off 10 ribs and like 3 huge pieces of corn. Nummy.

My godmother is a great cook too so needless to say, I'm always well fed when I'm visiting. :D

My godmother who had to put up with me the most. She's my mum's youngest sister and always had to drive me to and pick me up from places.

My grandmother with the flowers in the garden.

My darling cousins who entertain themselves by doing weird things like this. I'm kidding, there are some pictures of them further below looking more normal.

I landed in Sydney on the 19th of Feb and stayed a night with one of my grandmother's friends until my godfather came to pick us up to drive us to Canberra. The drive to Canberra is about 2.5hrs from Sydney.

Once we got to Canberra, it was only a couple of days before I was on my way to Melbourne. But more about that later, I gotta go unpack my bags.
