 | | Saturdays are for stuffing faceSunday, June 24, 2012 @ 12:46 PM PERMALINK
Woke up this morning to decide where to head to for brunch. After some intense whatsapping and consultation of our various brunch lists, we decided on heading to Group Therapy at Duxton.

Group Therapy is located on the second level of one of the Duxton hill shophouses. The minute we got up the stairs we were greeted by what a popular cafe at brunch time should smell and sound like. Coffee, eggs, hustle & bustle and excited conversation.

Stomaches growling and noses excited , we were ready to attack the food but the super friendly wait-staff told us that there was a waiting list about an hour long. Not to be defeated, we decided to wait it out at the Pigeon Hole which is just a couple of shops down.

We got a couple of drinks and enjoyed the respite from the afternoon sun.

Alcohol at 1.30pm. This was my 'Finally got a job' celebratory drink. By the way, this cider is amazing. It has a crisp and clean aftertaste while still retaining a really good toffee flavour. Barely tastes like alcohol, just the way I like it (lightweight)

Abby had a flat brown, which is basically a flat coffee but made with chocolate instead of plain milk. It really was quite tasty.

Pigeon Hole has a really relaxed, chill vibe and is a really good place to just kick back with your friends. The location is also an events space and promotes a ton of great local events.

When we were just about finishing up our drinks, Group Therapy called to let us know that a table was ready.

The food menu at Group Therapy isn't very extensive but judging from what we had, it is all pretty tasty. There are about all day breakfast items, a couple of main courses for lunch/dinner,  a selection of pies and sandwiches and a couple of desserts.

I had the shepard's pie, Abby had a salmon and avocado sandwich and Berns had the toast with salmon and poached eggs AND belgium waffles. The food was pretty good and the staff here are super friendly. Everything we asked for was given to us with a warm smile even though they are hella busy.

After brunch (actually it eventually turned into lunch) we went to China Square to stock up on nail polish before going on a joyride around Siglap and heading back.

I found a poster of TOP in my YEN magazine. I'm not sure if its supposed to be TOP or Top. Eitherways, I know he is quite cute. I screenshot the poster when I saw it and sent it to my friends that love him. Madness ensured.

I had promised to give the poster to Abby and brought it out with me. We just never got the chance to tear it out of my magazine. As we were about to drive off after Bern's dropped her home, I told her "SORRY BABE! YOU DIDN'T GET TO CUT OUT THE POSTER! " *insert annoying taunt face*

She jumped right back into the car and started thumbing through the pages to find it.

And managed to cut it out perfectly with a scissors we had retrieved from Bern's glove compartment. The power of Kpop love and OCD tendencies. Kidding, you know how much I love you Abster.

After getting home and contemplating what to do with myself, I decided that 500ml of 4% cider was enough alcohol for me for one day and made the decision to not go to Zouk. I decided this while watching family guy (my new favorite show because NOTHING else is on TV anymore except Royal Pains). I feel myself effectively getting more stupid with each episode I watch.

I guess my laziness to find something nice to wear and to put on makeup also played a part in this decision to rot at home. This happens very often and no, I don't understand my laziness either

I did in the end put on shorts and brought my freshly washed hair to Barks for some mushroom fritters with Ben.

Mushroom fritters at Barks will always taste of being 16-18 years of age.

That's it. That's how I spent my Saturday. I'm off to work in 1.5 hrs. This time next week, I will still be at the same place but purely based on my loyalty to a place that does not deserve it.

However, on Tuesday, I start on one of the steps into adulthood, starting a full time job. Wish me all the best! :)

**For some reason, there is a white background against some of my words. I don't know what I did to make that happen and I'm too lazy to fix it.  Oops.
