July food adventures : Teyvika
Saturday, August 4, 2012 @ 1:01 AM PERMALINK

To celebrate Abby's coming home from Korea after a week long event, we went out on an adventure. Which usually equals food.

We had arranged to have brunch or lunch but Abby was totally wiped out from her event so by the time we all got together it was already pretty late in the afternoon. Perfect for tea.

I had heard about Teyvika  and I have a real soft spot for tea so I made Berns and Abby to agree to go with me. Before we got there, we decided to drop by PS Cafe to get a snack.

These wild flowers at PS Cafe always grab my attention. They are so dainty and pretty

Toffee Apple Steamed Pudding

The pudding was really good but the butterscotch sauce it is swimming in is a little much.

Poutine : Fries, mushrooms, gravy, cheese and foie gras.

This is the best poutine I've tasted. I would opt out of having it with foie gras though. I've decided that foie gras is unnecessarily evil and doesn't even taste that great to me. So it is really not a loss to me. A little more practical than tree hugger I know.

Matching animal home buttons from Korea.

In case you are wondering why one of the phones has some kind of rabbit theme going on. That's my phone.

I bought the rabbit dust cap when I was waiting for my friends to finish shopping. Abby insisted that I had to take the rabbit sticker and she took my phone and stuck it on herself. So, my phone is really only themed because my friends are insane. I'm not the crazy one *disclaimer*

After PS Cafe we walked down to Teyvika. What is awesome about Teyvika is that not only are all their teas in loose leaf form, all the tea sold there is brewed for a specific amount of time at a specific temperature.

This method ensures that the tea is seeped to its optimal quality without releasing tannins. In their words "So there is no siap siap taste"

YUM.

Teyvika has a great selection of teas. Black, Tisane (herbal infusion), green, oolong, white..

We also had dessert at Teyvika. Well, I didn't cause I only had dessert as my snack at PS cafe.
Don't be a judge-y Judy about my snack choices okay.

The teas at Teyvika were all very refreshing and clean tasting. The cafe itself has a really cheery atmosphere. The decor is understated with a simple orange, brown and white colour scheme and there are really clever posters with tea puns on the wall. It really is the perfect place to chill out on a lazy afternoon.

I read somewhere that the colour orange helps to stimulate the appetite. With what Teyvika has to offer, I doubt they need that extra help.

Tea, tea, glorious tea. I'll definitely be back.
