Jimmy Eat World - 1st April 2011
Thursday, April 7, 2011 @ 4:14 PM PERMALINK

Jimmy Eat World is one of the bands I've always vowed I'd watch one day. Even when I thought I had to buy $125 tickets, I was still considering it.

Jimmy Eat World music is to be, truly comfort music, it reminds me of all the things music now is not.
Everything fell into place on this one. I randomly found out about the RWS deal on Facebook, XT bought me the tickets, we didn't have a single problem getting in. There was a snag at the baggage check but after initial grumpiness and $6 extra, we were on our way. I love it when things fall into place like this.

The band was all the way awesome, it was song after song like the pros they were. They were pretty funny when they talked though, which wasnt often. And even when they did it was just to keep saying Thank you.

"Is this what bands do? Come here and bitch about the weather?"
"I should have known. That's so lame"
"Well we are from Arizona, so this is not too different from there"

It was good even the heat didn't put a damper on things and we left feeling a little deaf with the resolve to buy and wear earplugs to our next concert.

The next day, we woke up hella early to brunch at Hatched. It is a bit pricy (but most brunch is) and Mon Lupine doesn't really see the point in spending so much on breakfast food. But its a great atmosphere and everything is so pretty.

It is in a pretty cosy, although run down building. The only thing is that its heaps far from everything else.

We got there earlier than everyone and thought we shouldnt try and get a table when the whole party wasn't there yet, I guess we should have put our names on the list though.

Looking at the menu and deciding what to eat while waiting, I guess we waited like 30 minutes? Or maybe it was less.

 Eggs, Eggs and Eggs!

Sleepy morning faces. Jacob is finally out of the clutches of NS, all bald and tanned.

I loved that the orange juice was freshly squeezed and that the coffee came with foam art. The food I guess was nothing spectacular and our waffles and toast were overcooked and tough to chew but I dont know I'm kind of sucker for the decor and the concept. Romance > Practicality for me.

Fresh orange juice, freshly squeezed, full of orange-y goodness

"WAH! why my coffee got heart?"
"aww, cause they like you!"
"Of course."

The war of the sugar. Berns had just said that she wanted the brown sugar and when Abby passed her the sugar bowl, Jacob snatched ( okay, took) the final two packets. But berns being the awesome girlfriend she is kept quiet til we pointed it out. After which Jacob sheepishly handed back the sugar and Berns pouted that she didnt want it anymore.
This is the chicken that the boys swear was giving all of us the finger.

 I love these lightbulbs

Our breakfast made for two, toast, waffles, baked beans, sauteed potatoes, bacon, sausages and two kinds of eggs (poached and scrambled)

Jacob's sausage platter and mashed potatoes

Mandatory group photos as set up by the self proclaimed pro, Jacob.

After that we (minus chuckles and giggles) went into town to meet Gladys and Matt for coffee, bitching and Jan 2012 trip planning.

Lovely weekend. Lets hope this one is the same!
ITS THURSDAY!
