Anyone that has ever traveled with me will know that I'm totally the 'Make a huge list of things we can do' type.

I'm not too anxious about keeping to a fixed plan or an itinerary but I just love being able to come back from a day of exploring and just having to pick from a list of possible activities.

This KL trip, I did nothing of the sort. All I did was pay for my bus ticket and for my share of the hotel. The rest was handled by my colleagues and it really did feel good. (Future travel buddies please note: I'm not ready to give up my list toting ways though)

Early in the morning, I misjudged the time the buses started running past my house and had to rush to hail a cab. At 6am in the morning, cabs were scarce and while I was trying to deal with my friends' insistent whatsapps telling me I was gonna miss the bus, I hailed a Chrysler taxi.

It was honestly the best taxi ride I've ever had and I'm not just saying that cause it cost me almost double the usual amount.

After that, I thought I was home free. All I had to do was get to Nicoll highway MRT station and walk like 400m (so I was told). I WAS WRONG.

I walked in the wrong direction and ended up having to u-turn while all my colleagues panicked (again) that I was going to miss the bus.

By the time I got to Golden Mile, I was a sweaty mess. In the end, after all that rushing, the bus left 30 minutes late anyway.

Yes, I know, who else could be as unlucky as me? I ask myself that very often.

The bus ride went by quicker than expected and our bus dropped us off at Berjaya Times Square.
We stopped by the food court to get lunch before heading over to the hotel.

But not before we stocked up on the alcohol for the alcoholics

Waiting impatiently outside for the rest to be done purchasing the goods

Finally almost at our hotel, where we threw everything on the ground, kept our booze and proceeded to vege out in the air conditioned room while planning our next move

Pris the alcoholic and Din the money master

  Obligatory cam whore shots

Then off to explore downtown KL. After buying a pair of pink heels at Sungai Wang, it started to rain and we had to seek shelter in Lot 10's Haagen-Dazs.

The rain didn't let up so we stopped by a bar for a couple of drinks while trying to decide if we would still head to Petaling Street.

Once the rain stopped, we decided to head to Petaling Street as we had first planned. Mainly because I've never been there and also because Nizar had to get some shades for friends

(Picture from the day after, while we were passing it in a taxi)

Really intrigued by the round MRT tokens.

We were too busy shopping and navigating through the alleys to take any pictures. After Petaling Street, we stopped for dinner by our hotel before loading up on maggie mee and heading back to the hotel.

After dinner, we changed into our swim suits and headed to the hotel pool. The pool was open til 12am and the security guard very sweetly let us stay until about 130am.

  Drunken antics in the room

Maggie mee never tasted so good

After we pigged out on the maggie mee,  I went to bed while the rest of them attempted to watch the match.

We woke up bright and early (actually not to early, 11am) and took a couple more pictures before heading out for nann.

The boys managed to get us a friendly cab driver that was willing to drive us there for a reasonable price.

We came across a Sunday Bazaar that sold amazing flats for 20RM. Unfortunately I was so broke that I only bought one pair and have been thinking about them ever since. D:

Nizar told us that we would have the best nann ever in this stall. Pretty brave words, but he was right. I still get hungry looking at the pictures now.

Cheese nann. Butter-y, fluffy nann filled with cream cheese. YUMYUMYUM

This keema was also amazingly awesome. (oh man, I'm so hungry now)

After a throughly satisfying lunch, we headed back to Berjaya Times Square where we sat at Starbucks, shared a Baskin Robbins ice-cream sundae and waited for our bus back home.

I've actually never considered KL as one of my top holiday destination choices but it was a real refreshing getaway for all of us. Pretty solid stuff even if we didn't see any of the usual sights (apart from Petaling)

PLUS! the shoes there are soooo cheap! I came back with two pairs and would have bought a lot more if I had brought extra money.
