uncertainty and holiday plans!

Sup kittens, May is almost over and with that signals the fact that I'm almost done with my degree.
1.5 years and I'll be all papered up ready to face the real working world in Singapore.
The thing is, I don't want to face the real working world. EVER

I don't know what I want to do yet. Honestly, I've been working my ass off since I was 16. And by that I mean diploma + work ---> two part time jobs -----> freelance work + additional part time jobs ----> degree + 2 part time jobs ----> degree + internship + two part time jobs. I would like nothing more in the world but to earn enough money so that I can completely do nothing and not worry about how the rest of my family will survive.  I am now also $25k in debt to my grandmother

I know, big on the plans, light on the budget

Right now! I refuse to see past July. Because July is Vietnam and Bangkok!

I've been to Bangkok like 5 times in the past couple of years and I really love it. I love the walking, I love the food, I love the massages, I love the shopping, I like the people..this year Jasmine and I will be in Bangkok from 15th-19th of July. I just talked to Js yesterday and he said something about elections and rioting and it being dangerous. I just checked and elections are supposed to happen on the 3rd of July 2011 (evidence here) So stop trying to scare me. Okay, I admit that I'm a little paranoid but! what is life with no uncertainty right?

Anyways, I thought I'd change it up abit this year and I know Jasmine is pretty flexible with these things (which is why I've declared her my travel buddy).

Shopping is still definitely on the agenda but I thought we'd get out more and explore what bangkok has to offer besides Baiyoke Sky and Platinum and since we've got 4 days (no much actually on hindsight) we can do something besides shop til our pockets are empty.

I'm thinking of giving Khao San a chance this time. I know there are people out there that are going to tell me that Khao San is all backpackers and no culture at all. But I've taken a look around and Khao San is also close to a lot of monuments that may be of interest.

Definitely in the cards is to try and take the Khlong Saen Seap Express from there and see what day to day travelling is really like for the Thais. (plus it goes directly to Pratunam)

Also, since it is not likely that we will be heading toward RCA alone (cause taxis + night and horror stories from Asian parents) at Khao San, there will be pubs for the us crawl in walking distance of our hostel.

So far, I've shortlisted three places for us to stay, they arent as inexpensive as they could be I know, but they look so kitschy and appealing.

1. Nappark@Khao San

2. Niras Bankoc

Btw, Niras also runs a cafe in the lobby, totally fitting for Jasmine's strange caffeine cravings. I remember last year, much to Su and my suprise she bought this cup of overpriced cup of coffee from Baiyoke's lobby cafe

3. Refill Now

4.  Baan Dinso (okay, i know I said three but this is because this last one is SO SO expensive, I'm putting it up anyways cause it looks so great)

Also in the cards, Ratchada Night Baazar. But lets keep activities for another entry yes. Off for lunch and to complete my internship report. :(  So much travel research to do, so little time. There's still Vietnam! Teehee. EXCITED
